Vaccine Mandate protest, Mt Sinai South Nassau 9/17

My daughter, a nurse in the emergency room at Mt Sinai South Nassau, asked me to pass this along to everyone. Theyre having a large protest rally against the vaccine mandate that Mt Sinai initiated, and now supported by NYS. I was also told that they also initiated a lawsuit against the hospital and NYS for these vaccine mandates.
Btw, a major portion of the healthcare workers at the hospital are ready to be let go, if push comes to shove. So in theory, these hospitals could lose a major percentage of their staff, which in turn would affect healthcare for all that go to the hospital.

Nice to see this. Been hearing too many in healthcare "fall in line" and turn a blind eye. And right in my backyard. Doubly sweet.

Couldn't tell you for sure. But one, there's a school right around the corner, with kids getting picked up by parents at 3. Friday afternoon people rushing to get home for weekend, so busy on Merrick rd. Also day after Yom Kippur, and everyone heading back out after holiday.
Maybe taking a que from the BLM protests: do it when you'll get maximum exposure, and cause the biggest disruption?

This is what the staff is planning at South Nassau, and many other hospitals. Let's see how the hospitals run with a 1/3 less staff, especially the emergency rooms.
Btw, hope you don't need to go to the hospital any time soon. It could be a very long wait.

Oh c'mon, man! No prob...we planned for every contingency. Just wear a mask and cross your legs really hard for a few more weeks, you'll be fine ladies.

Maybe if they wore the mask different location, it would actually be useful for something?

The wait is already 8+ hours at the ED @ Stony Brook (always has been, but getting worse)

There's also reports that some of the communist nursing staff are announcing patient jab status openly and discriminating priority based upon those that have been jabbed

That's a lawsuit waiting to happen. HIPAA laws most definitely apply to healthcare staff in a work setting.

And... if anyone suffers medically by being delayed care that was available... because of being discriminated against... that smells like a lawsuit too.

Looks like we're gaining some ground in the fight against vaccine mandates. A Federal judge in NY, put a temporary block to the vaccine mandate for healthcare workers, following the lawsuit that was brought on by nurses and doctors against NYS. Federal judge blocks New York vaccine mandate for health care workers | TheHill And if you do some research, you'll find similar lawsuits, and Judges blocking the mandates, in other states.
