    Good day fishing!

Went out on a friend's boat this morning.

Strong tides, wind against tide, and a spurt of rain made for tough conditions but we scratched out a "Great South Bay Grand Slam" hat-trick!

    It was a fun day.

I am not armed out of fear of who's in front of me.
I am armed out of love of those behind me.

I took the weakie and fluke. Haven't had weakfish in a long time.

My friend took the blues. He likes them.

I know it's not for everybody, but same-day-fresh blues when bled and trimmed properly are awesome eats.

That's awesome, it's good to see those weakfish making a come back! That moon tide must have been cranking today, you guys did well.

And then licks his ass...not exactly a go-to reference for refined palates. But then you could argue even an ass licker won't touch them so this could really go either way...

My dad used to use blues to make escabeche de pescado.
When people found out he made it they would line up to eat some.

I don't know what you people have against weakfish. It's awesome!

Wife is frying it and the fluke now.

Smoked with cheese and triscuits is even better. .. you can watch a movie throw back a ton. Phenomenal and I won't even touch blues any other way.

Blues are delicious when prepared and cooked properly.

John Valuk is dead. He fell on his head.

After watching some John Skinner videos, I've really gotten more interested in Kayak fishing. It looks like a ton of fun. I miss that show they had on Discovery for a season where the guys were catching marlin, mahi mahi, etc all from a kayak in Hawaii.
