Dock Fishing South Shore?

I don't feel like taking the truck on the beach this weekend but I wanna get out Sat. AM and do some fishing. Anyone know anywhere good on the South Shore to just fish off a dock for some fluke, small blues, etc? I know Captree and Oak Beach have some docks just not sure if it's worth giving it a try.

If you just wanna go fishing, it doesn't really matter. If you wanna go catching, an open boat out of Captree is probably your best bet.

Personally, I've never been able to catch shit from a dock.

Wantagh Park, Seamans Neck Park, both have the usual hit or miss (mostly miss) fish and crabs. Weed can be a hassle on the bottom of the tide at both places.

You can catch from captree. A little early for snapper but blues, bass and fluke are good bets. A fish finder rig set up with a big old clam belly or bunker chunk dead sticked while you cast tins( underhand casting) or bounce bucktails on the bottom. Go when you have moving water and have fun.

The shinnecock canal was always good, but you do loose rigs to hang ups on the bottom.
