Who is getting ready for winter geese season?

Looking forward to winter goose hunting this year.
We tried to go out for the early season but it was way too warm.
Season length and limits are the same this year for our area as it was last.

So who else is going looking forward to blasting the honk out of the sky?
    Where do you go?

Lots of them in my neighborhood. Bring a club and a duffle bag.

        Never hunted geese.

Still trying to get my first deer.

I am armed out of love of those behind me.

I can hear them constantly over my place now near Yaphank. Almost goose-jerky time!

Give us virgins the cliff notes on prep and cooking if you'd be so kind. You say red meat so is it steak like in texture or taste? Assuming you have to find all the pellets as well. Is it gamey or just a different toe of meat flavor.

                          Actually it is awful.
so you should give them to me. Lol
                          #1 ) age them.
Dont breast them the first day . Let them age WHOLE for at least 3 days.
#2) After you breast them, cut out any shot up meat that’s really dark
#3) Run them under cold water to clean them and wash away some blood
#4) soak them in water in a container for a day in the fridge to remove more blood
#5) rinse them again and dry them with a towel before wrapping for the freezer or cooking

                              Nope.
Duck and geese are as different to me as Elk and venison.
I don't really care for duck ( except at the best restaurants)
