    License Question

Planning on going with a cousin of mine this year for deer, I know i need the coarse, I remember someone mentioning this course on the other forum, in FAQ it says accepted in every state.
    https://www.texashuntered.com/online...nter-education

anyone know of any other locations or places that offer the test?
Found one in Mahopac, Westchester in the end of August

    Try the link at http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/92267.html

Guys claim that the Texas course covers some of the regs that impact hunting in Nueva Yawk. I just don't see how 4 or 5 hours online with a course from a free state will tell you about things such as magazine capacity, guns around vehicles etc. here, especially considering ours is what 16 hours in person /

I took bow hunting safety a little over ten years ago, and of course the prerequisite hunter safety before that. Then they were two full Saturdays or four weeknights. Maybe with the homework requirement they got shorter ( ? ) Papabear should chime in shortly...

Yea, there an online homework section that needs to be done prior to showing up for the actual course.

DEC doesn't always seem to have the latest classes posted. ( Go figure. ) Anyway, you might start by contacting the local gun shops, Mitchell Field, etc. to see when or if they have classes. I know that my first class was at Marjorie Post (town) Park in Matzahpizza, my bow hunting class was at the mostly reviled LI Outdoors then on 110. T and T, DSI, Mitchell have all held them as well. Try calling the DEC office at Stony Brook and the local town offices. They may be more up to date than that embarrassing thing DEC calls a website. I don't even count on it for up to date fishing reg changes anymore.
