What is "Quota?"

Looking at the list and maps of public access hunting land on LI.

Each map shows the parking location and a number in parenthesis that the map legend say is "Quota".

What does that mean?

Pretty sure it means how many deer they want to harvest from a certain DMP area. Maybe on LI it goes by parking area. I also now they limit the amount of cars in a parking area and that number is on the map

What Phil said. It's the amount of cars allowed per area. There are designated parking areas at all hunting properties, each spot allows for a certain amount of cars.

I'm inclined to go with the # of parking spots. I don't think it's the number of deer from the location. Not every place requires a check in at Ridge (as I understand it) and if you add it up it's only a handful of deer for the season. That doesn't seem right.

It's the Amoung of cars permitted at that parking spot, however during gun season some spots may be for less cars or not available if DEC says so.
