HEAD-SPINNING STUPIDITY: YOU ONLY WANT YOUR GUNS BECAUSE YOU’RE RACIST

Liberals are always twisting themselves in knots trying to nd ways to demonize gun owners and anyone they disagree with in general. Now under the guise of “new research” comes the idea that opposition to gun control is because of white resentment of minorities. The idea and the articles really are funny, in a sad way. The Washington Post breathlessly said that researchers “found that whites were significantly less likely to support gun control measures when they had recently looked at pictures of black people, than when they had looked at pictures of white people.”
By the logic of these “researchers” white gun owners in those states must spend much of their time looking at photos of blacks to fuel their opposition to gun control just to satisfy liberal researchers looking for evidence to support their preconceived conclusions.
The logical flaw in that statement apparently was not evident to the intrepid staff at the Post, so anxious were they to have their preconceptions affirmed. According to this idiotic world view, whites will only support gun control if they are actively looking at pictures of black people. If only they would stop looking at those photos, things would be better for the country! When they only look at pictures of white people, support for gun control goes up, according to the Post.
Good luck figuring that out. Is this a call for picture control rather than gun control? Does no one at the Post think before they write? So if white resentment of minorities is fueling opposition to gun control, then it would stand to reason that in states with small minority populations there would be strong support for gun control. States like Vermont, Maine, Idaho, Alaska, and Wyoming — oh wait; those states all have very few gun laws and strong opposition to gun control. By the logic of these “researchers” white gun owners in those states must spend much of their time looking at photos of blacks to fuel their opposition to gun control just to satisfy liberal researchers looking for evidence to support their preconceived conclusions.

Did someone actually pay for this nonsense? (To see the actual study you have to pay $39.95, so perhaps) I wonder how they explain the millions of blacks opposed to gun control? No doubt that will be another study, unless liberals just deny any exist. They do give the expected caveat that they don’t mean all white gun owners. Well, yeah they do but they’re expected to say it.
“[Alexandra] Filindra and [Noah] Kaplan say their research does not imply that all white gun owners are racist, nor that all support for gun control carries racial baggage… But for a certain subset of white gun-rights supporters, particularly those who are inclined to hold certain prejudicial beliefs, messages about individualism and liberty and rights are understood in a very specific way.”
A “certain subset.” It’s a sure bet that subset is pretty expansive. Anyone who uses the language of individualism, liberty and individual rights — three things upon which this country is based — is really using code words advertising they are bigots. It is yet another example of the left demonizing those who are opposed to them because they can’t beat them in the field of ideas.
