Today, if you can point to some altruistic intended end, you can justify any means. It gets reinforced a lot on preachy prime-time drama and by politicians looking for re-election. While it is heartbreaking what has become of our country, as said above, in Grif's comment, it would require the department that Holder lead to go after him. Never going to happen. The saddest part of all of this is we are supposed to have apolitical agencies to keep corruption from our government. When a political appointee, or cabinet member is under suspicion, it is instantly supposed to trigger the appointment of an Independent Prosecutor. But we have seen that not happen constantly.

In a million years, the DOJ will never go after Holder. I don't even think a new administration would have the balls. All of these "elected officials" would be afraid to set precedent that they, or their cronies in top agency positions (like Lois Lerner) might get hammered if they did something that might come back to haunt them after a new admin comes in. The best part of this is the Dems already set this precedent by humiliating the intelligence community, after 9/11, and accusing them of torture. They, especially the famous anti 2A that carries, Feinstein, would have had the DOJ even prosecute these patriots.

Did they do what they did in a vacuum? No, they had Gov attorney's, as high as Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez's approval of Enhanced Interrogation, but many feared that they were not only going to be dragged through the mud, but that they might have been prosecuted!!!

My only point, regardless of anyone's personal opinions on the intelligence community, post 9/11, was there was no politics! They were trying to keep us safe! But they got humiliated. Lois Lerner, is no patriot, she successfully ran a POLITICAL program to screw over conservatives, and the DOJ did nothing. And I believe she is enjoying her six figure pension.... arghhhh.
