FEEL THE BERN!! Sanders may run 3rd party

The primary season is winding down and Hillary Clinton has been declared the presumptive Democratic nominee, but there may still be a way for Bernie Sanders to become president and continue his political revolution.

The likely Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein has invited Bernie Sanders to run on her ticket even if it means her stepping down to the VP slot, reports CNN.

Maybe we should start a pool or something.

        The Dead Pool?

I'm in. $50 on Bernie committing suicide by firearm if he goes third party.

While Bernie running as a 3rd party would mess up the Democrats, I worry that it would then give Cruz incentive to also run on a 3rd party. Then that would really screw up everyone.

Cruz 2020 means Trump failed horribly, which would probably result in a Democrat winning in 2020. Cruz is a decent candidate for 2024 once Trump has fixed everything.

With a tremendous dislike by many Americans for both candidates, the interest in a third party candidate is rocketing up. While the likelihood of a third party candidate winning is low, the ability to alter the election is high. Someone like Bernie on the left and Gary Johnson for the right is going to give the influential "independent" vote a viable option to choose from. It all comes down to how much people hate their current choices.

Bernie is supposedly meeting with the idiot in chief today. obama is supposed to be formally endorsing hillary, so he may be telling bernie to drop out. Odd choice backing hillary after he's consistently thrown her under the bus.

The sad part is that the Republicans will see it as an opening to run a 4th candidate...

Best case scenario: A bunch of third parties run, no candidate in November gets enough electoral college votes and the election goes to the House of Representatives for their selection of anybody they want as president. An honest shot at a decent conservative Republican getting inserted through a Constitutional quirk. Ahhh, to dream.

Trump is a soon to self destruct buffoon, but we knew that already. He's better than Hillary, but that alone won't get him elected and he is not more conservative that any Republican likely to be selected by Congress . Conservatives are for the rule of the constitution, traditional social values and economic prudence. Trump has none of this. Don't confuse PT Barnum populism for conservatism.

I think the basic difference we have is in who we think is the greater liar and incompetent charlatan.
It's a different choice of the lesser of two evils.
You think Trump is less trustworthy than the RNC establishment and I feel the other way.

We also differ in who has a better chance of beating Hillary, Trump or some unnamed choice that Couldn't get enough primary support to beat Trump.
that's where I truly don't understand your position that someone that lost to Trump can beat Hillary

One thing I believe is proven though is the Conservatives of the Republican Party are a minority and certainly not in charge of the Congress. They are most certain,y not part of the establishment or represented by the two last losers the RNC fully backed. Those losers were by no stretch of the imagination conservative.

The ++lost to Trump+ thing is irrelevant. What is in play is after the NOVEMBER election, neither Trump, nor Hillary, nor any of third parties have the constitutionality minimum number of electoral college votes, the election is OVER, and then the US House of Representatives get to pick their own choice to be President. https://www.quora.com/What-happens-i...lectoral-votes

So Hillary would have lost already by the time this process kicks in. Trump too. Its an opportunity for the nation to be rescued by the Republican controlled congress, with its Tea Party representatives. So thats why I dream.
