Armed Federal Officers Now Outnumber… The US Marines?

    OTB_MarinesVSFeds_graphicFINAL.jpg

“The number of non-Defense Department federal officers authorized to make arrests and carry firearms (200,000) now exceeds the number of U.S. Marines (182,000),” former Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn and OpenTheBooks founder and CEO Adam Andrzejewski said.

    Well that escalated quickly.

“The recent spikes in IRS purchasing could be related to the increase in recent ‘Identity Theft’ crimes and the prosecution of those crimes into sophisticated gang activity,” theOpenTheBooks report said.

Titled “The Militarization of America”, the report also confirms the IRS spent nearly $11 million on guns, ammunition and “military-style equipment” between 2006 and 2014, but they’re not alone. It seems other non-law enforcement related agencies are following suit, buying up heavy firearms, ammunition and tactical equipment in a pattern of militarization repeated throughout the executive branch of the government.

The other primarily administrative federal agencies militarizing their departments include the Environmental Protection Agency, The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Department of Health and Human Services, the Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Inspection Service.

So what are they up to?

It’s hard to say. From 2006 to 2014, IRS’spending on this equipment has gone from around $500,000 to $1,070,456, while the number of employed agents went down from 3,000 to 2,000.

One thing is for sure, the Internal Revenue Service, with its 2,316 special agents and nearly $11 million on guns, ammunition and military-style equipment, is yet another reason we need our guns more than ever.

Maybe they feel they can't trust the Marines to round up people and put them in FEMA camps?

They may get one Marine, if they get a jump on him, but when the other Marines find out there's gonna be trouble...

Just because the gov't spends gobs of tax money on firearms doesn't mean they're training gov't employees to use them (or that they're even being issued to gov't personnel). I still believe this is Washington DC's way of laundering tax dollars or giving weapons to the muzzies overseas.

Makes sense. Marine corp isn't tasked with making arrests etc.

An ex marine is one that has disgraced the Corps

                  A similar thread ... https://www.longislandgunclub.com/fo...d-so-many-guns....

My post in that thread ......

Answer ... because the government can not (easily) order the military to conduct operations on US soil.... so they need a force that is capable of military type operation ...under the guise of "enforcing laws" ..It's perfect ...the IRS ..as well as the rest of the Government / Law enforcement already knows or has the ability to know all about you ... and would have the LAW on their side as well ..... finding some kind of "violation of law" is not too hard.... you would garner no support from "law abiding citizens" cause you would be a labeled a criminal.... a perfect scam.

For some reason, this comes to mind:
A large group of Isis fighters in Iraq are moving down a road when they hear a voice call from behind a sand dune: "One Marine is better than ten Isis fighters".
The Isis commander quickly orders 10 of best men over the dune where a gun battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence.
The voice once again calls out: "One Marine is better than one hundred Isis 'S.O.B.'s'".
Furious, the Isis commander sends his next best 100 troops over the dune and instantly a huge gun fight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence.
The voice calls out again: "One Marine is better than a thousand Isis fighters." The enraged Isis commander musters 1,000 fighters and sends them to the other side of the dune. Rifle fire, machine guns, grenades, rockets and cannon fire ring out as a terrible fight is fought ... then silence.
Eventually, one badly wounded Isis fighter crawls back over the dune and with his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men ... it's a trap. There's two of them!"
                      Steve

They just realized that we aren't brainwashed and won't execute their illegal orders.

And do they really think they will win? We are under paid, under-fed and under -sexed. Go ahead and poke the bear. They will unleash a hell that the BLM /DHS / IRS /etc... have never even imagined.

                          Lets start this gunfight.

To which I'd say he was never a Marine to begin with.
