Former DHS Head: Gun Control After Orlando? Why?

“‘You kind of wonder what kind of glasses some of the Democrats are wearing as they look at that horrible tragedy,’ Ridge said on ‘The Cats Roundtable’ radio show with John Catsimatidis.'” That’s former DHS honcho Tom Ridge wondering aloud at the rabid anti-gun push of Capitol Hill Dems after the Orlando terrorist attack. “The notion that somehow gun control would have eliminated that is just an absolute disconnect.”

Silly Tom! Surely he can’t really be confused about any of this. Can he? It should be as plain as the blue gloves on a TSA agent that the administration and their congressional water carriers have done a masterful job redirecting the post-Orlando narrative from a failed foreign policy and the impotent fight we’ve waged against ISIS to…guns! The NRA! Homophobia!

They’ve also made the poll-based calculation — yet again — that the American electorate really is behind them. This time. Finally! Which is how we wound up with a momentary Senate filibuster and a House floor sit-in Periscoped live for maximum effect.
“But (no fly, no buy) is totally unrelated to the incident in Orlando where the murderer pledged allegiance to [the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria] and was probably inspired and converted by the virtue of the internet and some of his travels.”
All true, Tom. But inconveniently and assuredly counter to the misdirection that’s required this election season.

All they see is a chance to ban guns, and they'll be damned if logic or facts get in the way. They've already done their best to whitewash this entire incident, with the AG completely manipulating the information delivered to the public. It's not about safety, or anything else they claim. They've already shown themselves to be utterly dishonest, and they're doing everything they can to lie to the public without telling an outright lie, just to further their political agenda.

Only in America under Democrat control could a terrorist attack, perpetrated by a Muslim, who pledged allegiance to a terrorist organization while confessing in a 911 call, who was a registered Democrat, who supported Hillary, who was born to Muslim immigrant parents, who was twice investigated for potential terrorism... Become an act of homophobia that's the fault of Republicans, gun owners, and the NRA. After a terrorist attack, other countries band together. After 9/11, America came together. Under Obama, the Democrats say it wasn't a terrorist attack, and fire up the spin machine to attack their fellow Americans and push the political envelope forwards.

      It's unreal.

I was in Dick's yesterday in GC and the "kid" behind the gun counter was getting skewered by an ex-LEO. The child was rambling on how assault rifles should be banned and that AR-15s and semi-automatics are assault rifles. The former officer tore him apart and asked him if a "mini-14" was an assault rifle to which the chowder head replied "yes".

The best part though was when the LEO told the kid that his "problem is that you went to a LI liberal college and listened to some idiot bleeding heart liberal deliver some stupid speech on your graduation day that you actually listened to and are now parroting without any thought." (I'm paraphrasing but that's pretty much it.)

If I wasn't holding several boxes of grade-A evil ammo I would have high-fived the guy.

This goes back to a very large fundamental problem with this country as a whole....A lack of personal responsibility. Whether it's in the workplace, our kids' schools or during a tragic act of violence it's never the fault of the one acting out or doing the evil deed, rather, it's some lame ass excuse. It's either the instrument (the gun) or the rules (why people can't show up to their job on time or submit their work timely) or that everyone is "special" so the rules don't apply to them and exceptions MUST be made.

Maybe I am just getting old, but it wasn't like this when I was a kid in 70s growing up.

Get these idiots out of office already and let's get people in who remember what it is and was like to work hard, accept the consequences of their actions and quite frankly give a (BLEEP) about themselves, the jobs they have, the people around them and contributing to society instead of milking it dry while making excuse after excuse as to why we can't clean up the garbage that exists in our country today.

And sure, let's keep the guns out of the law-abiding citizens hands. Much more important than cleaning up LI's gang and drug problem. Here's a riddle for our democratic leaders... Which is easier for me to score this weekend? Heroin from a local high school or an "assault" rifle? Focus on a real issue ya jackasses, instead of some made up one because it just sounds oh-so-good. God forbid if the facts about our drug and gang problems were the front page news, then no one would want to live in this liberal dump known as Long Island, would they?

Sorry if I offended anyone, I'm just tired of it. I'm in my mid-40s and everyday I wake up and say how I can't wait to get the heck out of NY. And that's just sad.....
