Assuming the dude is legit, and not staged, I'm reminded that some rights are exercised stupidly. I doubt this is an incidentally armed citizen who is going about his business, but instead is some narcissist looking to garner media attention and possibly stir up some unnecessary shit. Yes, it's probably legal (depending on several things we don't know from the photo). But so is tip-toeing along the edge of a cliff on a windy day. Legal, but not too smart.

Imagine this guy walking along YOUR street toward YOUR kids. You - or the police - try to talk to him but he keeps walking toward your kids repeating over and over, "Am I being detained?!?" As he gets closer to your kids, he grabs the gun - maybe just to readjust it...or maybe to move it to get his wallet....or to scratch his ass.......or to kill your kids. If his intentions are evil and you wait until he grabs his gun to act, your kids are already dead.

What if the police do nothing as he's walking along as they have no authority to stop him - and leave. "He's not breaking any laws, why did you call the police? I'll be back if he starts shooting your kids." Or, "I'll watch him for a few minutes from way back here behind cover until I get another assignment - because he's not breaking any laws. If he starts to shoot your kids, I'll then take action, all according to law."

I see this as a cry for attention, legal or not it is not the best idea. I don't feel that this kind of stance for your 2A rights is productive. The media and Libs will demonize this and many people will view this as someone that is out to start trouble.
