PHILADELPHIA — A popular firearms company that makes AR-15-style rifles has donated an eye-popping $150,000 to the arms industry's "#GunVote" campaign to stop Democrat Hillary Clinton and liberal gun control measures.
O.F. Mossberg & Sons Inc. put its support in the campaign headed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation which heads the campaign.

"November could bring great change to our industry, no matter the outcome for president," said A. Iver Mossberg, Jr., CEO and great-grandson of company founder Oscar F. Mossberg. "We at Mossberg are pleased to be able to help educate voters about issues facing our industry, the shooting sports and the very survival of the Second Amendment, as well as provide them the information they need to register to vote."
The group's efforts are separate from the over $20 million the National Rifle Association plans to spend to defeat anti-gun Democrats.
"Mossberg's tremendous contribution to #GUNVOTE comes at a crucial juncture in this election year, as the parties' nominating conventions have begun," said Lawrence Keane, NSSF senior vice president. "With this commitment, NSSF as the industry's voice will be better able to help ensure that gun owners, hunters and target shooters are registered to vote, informed about where the candidates stand on the Second Amendment, the future of the Supreme Court, on gun control and wildlife conservation policy issues and, on Election Day, armed with that information, will go to the polls and #GUNVOTE."
Gun control has emerged as a big issue at this week's convention here, with Clinton expected to call for more control and anti-gun groups and vendors filling the convention hall headquarters of the Democrats downtown.
