Sen. Espaillat Wants SAFE Act Ammunition Database to be a Top Priority
Today, during Lt. Colonel Beach's confirmation proceedings, to become the next Superintendent of Police State, Senator Adriano Espaillat asked if he would make getting the SAFE Act ammunition database up and running a top priority.
"Thank for your service to this state and nation Lt. Colonel Beach, and for once again answering the call to public service. I wrote to the search committee tasked with selecting the next Superintendent of the State Police requesting they select someone fully committed to getting the SAFE Act ammunition database up and running as soon as possible. At this moment in our history, when gun violence grips our nation with one tragedy after another, it is pivotal that the State Police have every tool available to prevent gun violence. It has been over three years since we passed the SAFE Act and we proudly enacted the nation’s toughest gun laws in New York. I believe the next Superintendent of Police should make finding a way to get this database a top priority. Will you make getting the database up and running a priority?," asked Senator Adriano Espaillat.
