Dangerous bill....this will be used on peaceful protests by Conservatives, Tea Party members, and gun owners as soon as shitty democrats regain power in government
The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but only to have the law of nature for his rule ...Samuel Adams, "The Rights of the Colonists" page 419

Yet to see attendees at an NRA Annual Meeting or a Tea Party rally committing crimes while wearing masks.

they won’t have too. Liberals will use a loose interpretation of “Disguise” and arrest anyone wearing a hoodie.......good luck defending yourself in federal court with a 93% conviction rate. Plus there is generally no parole on federal crimes

When the Right does protest (which is relatively rare because it's a waste of time and accomplishes nothing), they generally don't become violent and they don't cover their faces because they're not ashamed of who they are or what they're doing. If they do any or all of those things, fuck 'em, they deserve whatever they get. Even the KKK gave up their face covers and fuck them anyway.

Now, I don't know about 15 years in a Federal pound-me-in-ass prison, but these people who protest and get arrested for a living are usually released within hours and not even fined. They never get an arrest record. I'd like to see that change. There needs to be a consequence to deliberately disturbing the peace, shutting down streets and highways and creating a public safety hazard.
No one ever wished they didn't have a gun.

          Regards,
          Chris

Like I said above, you really want to take a chance with overzealous prosecutors who are known to broad definitions of the law. Wear a hoodie and argue with a liberal who accuses you of being “threatening “ at a protest rally is not far fetched to fall victim of this law

and look who is pushing it....Peter King

No democrat would want to set precedence that a hoodie is a disguise under any circumstance. That same precedent would allow cops to just roll up on any liberal city dweller in a hoodie and take them in. Most of the city democrat's constituents are hoodie wearing dindus.
I swear the shit you come up with would make Alex Jones say you're reaching.

Under the act, anyone wearing a mask who injures, threatens, intimidates, or oppresses people “in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege” will be imprisoned for up to 15 years.
However, you're not wrong that this could be a slippery slope, as we've seen with the abuse of laws with vague definitions.

Whats peaceful to us is is not peaceful to them. Past rallies has proven this. How many times have we been accussed of bigotry and racism during the Obama administration

Acting under color of law you can’t wearing a mask? No balaclavas for SWAT teams anymore? Stupid bill for many reasons.

I think you have a point with great historical precedent, but the jaded cynic in me also will point out that ANY law can be twisted by any prosecutor who wants to, with the financial burden on the defendant (and it is often the threat of that burden that is used to "bully" people) so you're kinda stating the obvious.

Look at what DA Rice did with gun stores in Nassau county a few years back based on her interpretation of the vague laws at the time (which were clearer than SAFE). Many of us knew those guys personally, they spent a night in jail, had their business greatly limited, names dragged through the papers, spent tens of thousands on legal fees and in the end it amounted silently to nothing.

Same goes for knife laws in NYC. Any cop on the job will tell you they can write up any knife you might have as an illegal "gravity knife" if you're being a jerk to them. Tons of other examples of laws from local to federal that get twisted all the time.
