    Mossberg 464 loose trigger

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRSz...;feature=share

I picked up a brand new mossberg 464 30-30 today I had ordered online and delivered to a local FFL. Was looking at it tonight and found the trigger is really floppy and loose. I have a video here to show it. Is this normal? I never had a lever action before.

I bought this as a Valentine’s Day gift for my fiancé.

    Normal.
All lever actions have take up or "play" in the trigger.

Really? Wow I don’t think my Mosin has this much take up.

      Why it is that?

Bolt actions have alot less moving parts in the action.

Older lever actions had a one piece trigger assembly and there was no creep. Starting in the mid 60's lever actions went to a 2 piece trigger which has the play in it.
There are two fixes. Wild West Guns makes a "trigger happy" kit that is a one piece trigger. It's 100 bucks. Second fix is to spot weld your two-piece trigger together.

Whenever anything is loose I use duct tape...
A word to the wise ain't necessary, it is the stupid ones who need advice.

What doesn't kill you ... will circle around for a second attempt.
