angled fore grip on detachable mag

I really like the comfort of my vertical front grip on my fixed mag target build. now when i handle my first build, a detachable mag with thorsten stock, it feels odd holding the forend since it is flat and not angled. i am sure it is, but figured it would be best to ask, is the magpul angled front fore grip ok to install? looked at pics of other peoples builds and did not see anyone using one

It's a gray area, but err on the side of caution and probably not. However, nowhere in the law does the modification have to be permanent. And possession of an AFG is not illegal as it is just a part. Since it is easily removed, you do the math and attach it when you want and detach it when you want. Of course I was reffering to attaching it at an out of state shooting range and detaching it to bring back.

Not sure what the wording in the safe act is, but if it is worded similar to the atf, they do not consider an afg a vertical fore grip..

yeah i feel it is a grey area as well. not worried about possession, have plenty of unused AR pistol grips in the parts bin lol. if it cant be left on it, then i am really not interested in it. i used to have multiple setups for different guns, but i prefer to start purpose builds that

that is what i am hoping for but looking up on the safe act website i just found this:

"Second handgrip or protruding grip that can be held by non shooting hand"

Nothing said about being vertical. only thing i can say is that it is a "hand rest" haha

The safe act website is useless.. Read the penal law.

Do what you want just don't post pictures of it on the internet.

This is kind of one of those things where I think you need to draw your own line in the sand. I think the chances of you getting a safe act violation for shooting a semi AR with a vertical grip at calverton are virtually zero. At some point you have to say enough is enough with these laws. You try your best to stay within the lines but theres only so much shit you can shovel down your throat
