    Trigger question

As of now I have a single stage Timney 3lb trigger on my 20" A2 AR. I'm building a 16" AR for shorter distances with red dot sight. I bought a Geissele SSA-E 2 stage trigger, and I was wondering if I should put that on the "long range" AR and put the single stage on the new one.
    Any opinions or suggestions?

I prefer a 2 stage on a long range firearms. For CQB, I feel a 2 stage is too light

Are you planning to shoot matches with it, or is this another bench gun?

I'm not at the match stage just yet lol. New build will be for free hand at closer ranges.

What are you, chicken? Just register for the LIPSA tactical rifle match on October 9th and go shoot.
As long you know which end of the rifle is the business end and can understand the 180 rule you be fine.
The shotgun match is on the 31st, it's a good way to see how things work.

If you do that you will probably be banned from matches...

And the three foot rule for your feet, almost forgot that one...

He's not allowed to shoot at matches. The range is by the airport and he doesn't like wearing the flashing red lights on his head...

I like the 2 stage on the bench guns..But then again it's all personal preference..Definitely get into the matches, everyone is very cool helping out first timers..Don't worry what others think , enjoy the sport. .

Generally speaking the two-stage trigger is excepted by most people as being the better model for bench shooting that said I do have a rifle 20 inch Krieger barreled bench gun that has a single stage trigger and I feel like I shoot pretty well with it. Geisselle makes a match rifle trailer and as probably the next trigger I will be purchasing the Roku models one is the service rifle trigger and the other is called the match trigger that what is adjustable down to I think one and a half or 2 pounds I could be wrong but I would check that out if I were you

Recently installed a trigger tech flat trigger. Started at 3.5 lbs and cranked it right down to 2 lbs. only issue is that at that light of a pull, everytime the bolt slammed back for a reload, it would knock the hammer off the sear. If you were gentle with the bcg, worked fine. Put it back to the 3 lb area and works fine.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to put the 2 stage in my bench gun, and the single stage in my new build, then maybe think about some matches.
