My First AR Build

This is my first attempt at building an AR

Spikes Tactical Zombie lower
Spikes ST-2 Buffer assembly
PSA Classic Lower Parts Kits
PSA 16" Mid Length Melonite Freedom upper assembly with 1:7 Twist

Optics will more than likely be the Vortex strike fire 2 paired up with the vortex vmx3t

Coming along good so far. I really want to build my own AR, but just haven't gotten around to purchasing everything. Should have picked up a lower while I was at Jerry's. I'm like a kid in a candy shop when I walk into a gun store. I nearly have a heart attack when I walk into cabela's and see the gun counter.

I agree, but normally when i see the prices i say to myself "Yeah, I can buy that online cheaper"... Where I am, gun shops are a dime a dozen. Most are over priced or items they have "arent for sale"... was saddened when they had an older S&W revolver in the case that said "Used"... when I inquired about the price, they told me it wasnt for sale and that it was part of the owners collection... GET IT OUT OF THE CASE THEN OR CHANGE THE TAG!!

I love that lower, are you going to color fill it? The Zombie looks different than my zombie lower. This is what I did.

Eventually I will color fill it, this was my first attempt at assembling one. Your zombie looks different then mine for sure.. I wonder if it was a different run?

I don't know if that is a cheap product, never bought from them , they probably have the machine work done at the same places 85 % of the other AR companies have done.. For a cheap build, for that price, yes I would buy and shoot the hell out of it..I just thought I'd share that with you guys...

Finally broke down and bought some sights... Seen a cheap eotech at the pawn shop.. sight was fuzzy so i skipped it... picked up a set of flip up irons for the rear.. Came home and purchased a red dot and a magnifier... anyone have a scope theyre lookin to get rid of?

I run the same upper in my main range pig. Fuctions flawless after VMTCT made me realize that i installed my hammer spring in backwards. 239$ plus a 80$ PSA NiB BCG with a 7$ extended charging handle latch. LOVE IT! Building my first AR really helped me understand the function of the gun. Also, bug plus having forum members help me out to diagnose my problems.
