Ruger 10/22 Collector Series 2nd Edition

Does anyone have this rifle? If so how do the sights compare to Tech Sights? Are they click adjustable for both windage and elevation?

I need to buy another 10/22 for my nephew to use for Appleseed and this may be perfect, it has sling studs already and a peep sight so I may only need to buy him a sling and be done with it.

How about a marine version 10/22 TD?

I assume you are looking to sell? If so pm me what you are looking for it.

Held one once and really liked the sights. If they sold them separately I would buy it

Thanks, after reading some more online trying to see what the sight picture is on these, I found out that the sights are the same sights as on the Mini 14.

I have one. If you want to meet at the Freeport range one evening, I can bring it for you to check it out with the GI sling and you can put some rounds down range.

If you're stuck and your nephew need a 10/22 for Appleseed, he can use one of mine.
Standard with tech sights, Hogue overmolded stock. Sling.
              No worries.

Shhh...I originally told my wife I could probably borrow a rifle for him, then she said wouldn't it be easier if you just bought one.

Thanks for the offer. I am not a member at Freeport anymore. From what I am reading online I think that this is the way I am going to go.

The Ruger scope mounts are notoriously crappy. Better to buy a base model and upgrade.

I am looking at it more for the peep sight than the rail. This gun will probably never have a scope.

My $0.02 is that peep sights are really not needed on a .22, given the maximum effective range for the sights @ about 125 yards. I'd save the money and buy the base model, but that's my preference.

Also it is a crime not to put a scope on a 10/22, given how cheap the scopes can be and how gosh darned much fun it is to shoot like that.

This will be an Appleseed rifle, the stock sights on a standard 10/22 do not cut it, their adjustability sucks to put it lightly. For my nephew who will be using this rifle, I would prefer he learn to shoot with sights. On the 10/22 takedown which I own already, I will be putting a scope for myself to shoot at the Appleseed. I don't have those 12 year old eyes anymore.

That's probably the one exception to the view I took. I use Kentucky windage with the stock sights but that's for plinking, not hitting a target with precision.
