I have 2Kidd barrels. The 16in Lightweight bull barrel and the 18in SS Match barrel. They are both tack drivers.

I recommend Kidd all day for 10/22 stuff

I have a Shaw that I was going to use for 10/22 build. They are heavy! I was trying to get it fluted. Good luck.

There a few other companies as well. pig whistle (https://www.wpgbc.com/) - whistle pig... or something like and green mountain rifle company, keystone, etc.

Based on my experience with KIDD, I'd go with them without question. They have a new system designed for quick barrel changes in case you have money to burn and shoot the shit out of the rifle to the point you wnat to switch lengths and or weights/design, in a few seconds.

A Marlin 795, hahaha. Seriously though, I love tweaking my guns, I would probably love tweaking out a 10/22, I totally get it. But when you like at the initial price point on the Rugers and then all the stuff you gotta do to get them to an accurate shooting rifle, I'll stick with my $125 Marlin over a $650 modified 10/22 after barrel, trigger group, bolt release, etc. Marlins are fantastic out of the box on accuracy and super inexpensive for plinking or small game.

I built one with a Ruger metal receiver, Kimber FLUTED .920 barrel (super rare), Kidd or Volq trigger (can’t remember) group and never tried it out. Replaced the beautiful thumb hole stock on it (no longer legal) and will probably sell it or part it out. I

I built one for a stamped 50th anniversary 10/22 using a Green Mountain Rifle Barrel Co. 24" .920 bull fluted barrel. Very happy with the performance . http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/901946-...2-ss-bull-bbl/
