You probably remember how we told you awhile back that NYC was going to start fining people for not referring to transgendered people with the right pronoun.
That was just one of the many strange stories we have seen over the past few months highlighted by Target’s backwards decision to let people use whichever bathroom or changing room that they feel most comfortable in.
Now, New York City is back at it again.
This time, they are forcing firefighters to take sensitivity training courses on the subject.

New York City firefighters must take a “Trans 101” course aimed at teaching employees the best ways to treat transgender employees and coworkers.

A city official said the Tuesday course teaches city employees how to be courteous to their transgender coworkers and explains what LGBTQI stands for, according to the New York Post. The city Commission for Human Rights started the two-hour course back in March.

In the course, firefighters learn about using correct pronouns when addressing a transgender and what words are not acceptable to use. The course also teaches what “gender identity” and “gender expression” are and how to tell the difference between the two. “Trans 101″ encourages attendees to ask transgenders what pronoun they want to be addressed with.

You think that maybe firefighters have some more important things to worry about than using the right pronoun to identify transgendered people?

Like I don’t know, fighting fires and saving lives?

Let’s also not forget that we are talking about less than half of one percent of the population.

This is just another example of how PC culture and red tape can get in the way of common sense.

I never heard of him. He is a bit obscure, but i did find a few interviews on youtube to listen to. he had very noble motives, helping folks who were not as well off as he was. And he found out how to accomplish his goals, which is more than i can say for all the folks on this board always crying about the unSAFE act. You might be older than me, but I have been around long enough to observe that most folks who go around bragging about how educated, wise, and experienced they are, are most likely none of those things. Brothers who possess those qualities project them with their demeanor and actions, they need no self promotion. And if you dont have a proper rebuttal of facts to statements posted by other folks, you can always just insult them and call them names. I wouldnt be going out on much of a limb to venture a guess that you are a Trump supporter.

I have enjoyed the "schooling" and have indeed learned quite a bit about the false notions, misconceptions, and myopic, xenophobic views that my neighbors can hold. For example, I grew up in queens and practically everyone i ever met, as well as all my relatives, know the value of a union job. They would always strive to make some connection or ask for a word to be put in for them to get joined up and hired. I never encountered an anti-union sentiment before coming to LIF, and we know the same crew is here. I get an education about human nature in general and long island brothers specifically everyday reading these posts.

My father thought i was crazy when i voted for Reagan. When he fired all those air traffic controllers, especially after being a shop steward for SAG in Hollywood years before, my father said "see, i told you about that asshole, he doesnt give a shit about families".
