    pr24s vs pr24s

What is the difference between the pr 24 baton and the pr 24s baton?

What is the difference between all of these? it seems like it's just the handle.

I ask because I need one for work.

Handles, do they allow the asp also? The pr24 is clunky and usually will end up far away from you when you need it like thrown in a trunk or back seat. Kinda old school nowadays. See if asp is gtg.

Thanks. ASPs aren't allowed for a few reasons. 1) We were never trained with them. 2) The department doesn't like the appearance of officers using the ASP. 3) pr 24 is better for escorting people and defending ones self. 4) It is easier to keep a hold of and doesn't roll away if dropped.

The only advantage of the ASP is its size.

The main reason is public relations though. I am about to pick up a collapsible pr 24 I found online. The guy didn't know the model but if needed I can change the handle.

I though no one carries these anymore due to the propensity to tomahawk people.

I was trained/certified with a PR24 and can't say much good about them. In all my years I never saw anyone use it as an escort tool except on TV. It is a FANTASTIC tool if your job spends the time and money to consistently train you on it, or you keep up your skills on your own time with an instructor. If not, the skills fade quickly and it winds up being a burden. I honestly didn't know any departments still use them.
We quickly dumped ours for hickory, which was unauthorized (for us rookies).
Expandables are great because as 99% of cops in a sector car know, the night stick is often left in the car when you get out quickly. The Expandable is always with you.

I have no idea what the "s" is for, or the difference(s).

I never heard of the "s" either but looking at the link and a few others it was vague but appeared to be different handles like knurled or the penis head type.😆 Talking about that, remember police officer Carol Shyia? She was pr24 trained it seemed!👍🏻

Of course I remember Carol Shyia! Her only mistake was to keep the NYPD patch in the photos!
